Pets are a special part of a person’s life. They share an unconditional love with their owners, and can have a positive impact on one’s health and well-being. The best pet stories are often heartfelt, humorous and poignant.
A good starting point for a pet story is to look at the history of your relationship with the animal in question. Was it given to you as a gift, or did you adopt them from a shelter? How did you meet them, and what sort of bond did you develop? Write down any fond memories you have of them, and consider what sort of personality they had.
Once you’ve got a few ideas, back up your brainstorming with some solid research on the subject. This will give you more depth and may help you to develop a theme for your story.
PET can also be recycled into the fibres that make polyester fabrics. Major designers use it for haute couture. It can also be used as 3D printing filament. rPET (recycled polyethylene terephthalate) uses 71% less energy and generates fewer greenhouse gases than virgin PET.
PET can also be used to test blood flow and tissue function in animals. A radionuclide is administered into a vein, and a PET scanner slowly moves over the area being tested. The positrons emitted by the breakdown of the radionuclide cause a detector to produce gamma rays, which are detected by the PET scanner and recorded as images on the computer. The images show the amount of the radionuclide collected in a particular area, which indicates organ or tissue function.
